Colombo Sikdang, located near Gangneung Central Market, is a galmaegisal (pork collar) specialty restaurant that appeared on Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey Gangneung episode. My boyfriend really wanted to visit, so we went there.
It's a small barbecue restaurant with about 6 round tables, and since it's a famous restaurant in Gangneung, we were worried that there wouldn't be any seats.
Huh? Why is no one here?
We guess it's because we visited around 5 PM on a weekday. After a while, locals started coming in and grilling galmaegisal.

The simple menu includes kimchi, seasoning sauce, and쌈 (쌈 채소) – a variety of leafy greens for wrapping. This simple setup reflects the restaurant's confidence in the inherent taste of the meat. The juicy galmaegisal, grilled over charcoal, is incredibly cost-effective. And sometimes, they generously throw in some free 삼겹살 (samgyeopsal – pork belly) as a bonus. To finish the meal, we recommend the spicy and clean-tasting 내장 전골 (naejang jeongol – innards stew).

In this day and age... no credit card payments? This is a bit of a bummer ㅠㅠ

After simmering for a while and the broth reduced, the umami flavor was incredible.
The Gangneung restaurant, Colombo Sikdang, had an abundance of innards in its beef innards stew.
There was osori gamtu (pork belly), makchang (large intestine), daechang (large intestine), etc., and there was no gamey smell at all, and it was tender.
My boyfriend and I love this kind of old-fashioned atmosphere, so we were satisfied.
It looked like a small portion for two people, but it was plenty as an alcoholic beverage.
We wondered if we should order galmaegisal as well, but we were too full, so we regretfully couldn't.
Almost everything is self-service, and the owner isn't particularly friendly, but we were able to enjoy delicious appetizers at a reasonable price. If we visit Gangneung again, we will definitely visit again.
